From Our Family to Yours
In Mount Salem, Jamaica, lived a family of 11, who were raised by an amazing woman: Florence Harding. Chef, mother, grandmother, and sole provider, Florence worked 7 days a week preparing fresh meals for the Chin & Changs, (a Jamaican-Chinese family who migrated to Jamaica in the late 1940’s). Florence worked hard, until her hands callused, yet when her shift ended, she rushed back home to tend to her family pot. Upon arrival, Florence would light the coal burning stove while granddaughter Sheron Grant, (head chef of 11Hauz), would always be the first to watch her cook.
Sheron, intrigued and awed by her grandmother’s handwork in creating delicious meals, would sneak a hot taste any moment she could. In addition to being blessed with Florence’s authentic family recipes, Sheron has added a delectable flavorful touch all her own.
Today, 11Hauz is renowned for serving tasty, healthy, and authentic Jamaican dishes in and around the Park City area for years. Sheron, along with her two daughters, Nyesha and Tanisha, and her granddaughter Yanique, invite you to experience a taste of family, a taste of love, and a taste of Jamaica within the gorgeous mountains of Utah.
